Show and Tell

June 29, 2010

Last night we had our half yearly Show and Tell.  Once again I am amazed at the talent in our group.  For those not able to make the evening or just wish to be inspired please see the images of the evening below.  Unfortunately everyone (except Chris) was camera shy and I felt like a photographer for a ‘calendar girls’ type photo with fruit covering significant areas except in this case it was items covering faces.

Marilyn showed beautiful examples of her hand spun yarn plus two wonderful nuno felted scarves she had made.

Geraldine showed examples of yarn bought from her recent trips to Scotland and a fabulous fair isle pattern jumper she is knitting for husband in natural shetland wool.  This jumper uses ‘steeks’ which Geraldine explained.

Audrey showed a lovely slip stitch jumper using 3 colours of double knit wool.

Pauline had knitted a lovely cup cake.

Daphne as well as knitting hats and bootees had made this wonderful rag rug cushion.

Benedictor brought along a Guernsey jumper her mother had knitted for Benedictor’s late husband and the book the pattern came from.  It was really lovely and the name of Benedictor’s late husband had been knitted around the bottom of the jumper.

Janet bought along a jacket she was knitting but unfortunately only bought a sleeve.  She also brought one of her lovely hand dyed hemp scarves she had knitted.

Christine bought along a beautiful Sasha Kagan kit which she is knitting.

Ann who is a grandmother to be brought along items for her new grandchild including an Elizabeth Zimmerman jacket and examples of her handspun.
